Forward!
I'm home for the weekend after one week of NCO-training. We had mostly practical field exercises where we played out different scenarios against the other groups in the "platoon".
So on my way back I got of the train and walked towards the city-buses, but had to run like crazy (with my 72-liter backpack) when I saw the one I was to travel on was about to depart - the friendly bus-driver was kind to wait thou ^^
So I'm standing on the bus (it's basically full). And I hear something drop to the floor (a child sandal), so I bend down and pick it up (since that's my nature) and give it to the woman who's child is sitting in her lap, the other one in the seat besides her (both probably not old enough to have started primary school). Now...
...as I go off the bus I hear a faint "good by Solder". And as the buss starts moving I look up and see the other child in the window with the biggest smile waves at me, closing and opening her hand (making me give hear a salute)...
*hand on my heart* (almost) touched to tears :)
